First Snow Fall Of The Year
November 13th, 2010 1:17 PM

Well its here. The first snow fall, and the first snow storm of the year, dumping over 6" since last night and its not over yet.

As an appraiser it makes the inspection part of our service a little more interesting. Driving to and from our subject and comparables can be hazardous to say the least. Wading through knee deep snow as we measure homes. Melting snow dripping off the roof lines and down the back of our necks. Hidden obstacles buried to trip on, and the list goes on. On the bright side it can make for some beautiful pictures of the fresh snow on the homes and landscape.

At least it came on the weekend. With two inspections all ready to go for Monday morning, the streets should be plowed and some of the initial snow melted. With colder weather coming in behind the storm, my heavy coat, gloves, stocking hat and knee boots are ready to go!
